Out With the Old, In With the New

I spoke too soon a few days ago, when I thought I was almost done with my application to Columbia Business School.

After getting great feedback from one of my essay readers (thanks, you know who you are!), it’s clear that Essay 1 for my application to Columbia needs a lot of work. I tried to adapt the NYU Stern essay for Columbia, but it’s just not an effective answer to the question prompt, which focuses on my short- and long-term goals. So, while I can use some of the same basic stories, I need to basically re-write my essays. But, since I have been writing essays for a couple of months, I have a lot of material to work with and am becoming more precise in communicating my goals and experiences. Whether or not that ultimately gets me in anywhere, these skills and knowledge can only help in my career ahead. Now, back to work!
